Zweden met Gyökeres en Isak naar WK voetbal

SOLNA (ANP) Zweden heeft als eerste land in de WK-groep van het Nederlands elftal de selectie bekendgemaakt. In de 26-koppige selectie van de Britse bondscoach Graham Potter (50) zitten onder meer de topspitsen Viktor Gyökeres (Arsenal) en Alexander Isak (Liverpool).

Gyökeres is bezig aan een topseizoen bij de koploper van Engeland, waarmee hij ook de Champions League-finale heeft bereikt. In alle competities was hij al 21 keer trefzeker. Isak kent een lastig debuutseizoen bij Liverpool, waar hij door blessureleed veel wedstrijden heeft moeten missen.

Ook enkele oud-Eredivisiespelers zitten bij de Zweedse selectie: Kristoffer Nordfeldt en Benjamin Nygren (ex-sc Heerenveen), Gabriel Gudmundsson (ex-FC Groningen) en Gustaf Lagerbielke (ex-FC Twente).
