Bangma en Bos pakken paralympisch goud

TOKIO (ANP) Baanwielrenner Tristan Bangma heeft Nederland samen met bijrijder Patrick Bos de eerste gouden medaille bezorgd op de Paralympische Spelen. Het Nederlandse duo was de beste op de 4 kilometer achtervolging.
De slechtziende Bangma en Bos waren in de finale sterker dan de Britten Stephen Bate en Adam Duggleby.
Voorafgaand aan de finale verbraken Bangma en Bos het wereldrecord op de 4 kilometer achtervolging. Ze zetten het record op 3.59,470 en zijn de eerste renners die de afstand in minder dan 4 minuten aflegden.
Bangma won in 2016 een gouden plak op de Paralympische Spelen van Rio de Janeiro, toen op de 1 kilometer en samen met Teun Mulder.
