Luchtvaartmaatschappijen mijden luchtruim Afghanistan

LONDEN (ANP/RTR) Verschillende grote luchtvaartmaatschappijen mijden voor de zekerheid het luchtruim van Afghanistan nu de Taliban de macht in het land in handen hebben. Grote luchtvaartconcerns als United Airlines, British Airways en Virgin Atlantic geven aan om het gebied heen te vliegen. Ook KLM maakte eerder al bekend voorlopig niet meer over Afghanistan te vliegen. De laatste jaren hebben luchtvaartmaatschappijen meer aandacht voor de risico's van vliegen boven conflictgebieden na twee dodelijke incidenten. In 2014 werd vlucht MH17 boven Oekraïne uit de lucht geschoten.
