WASHINGTON (ANP/RTR) De Amerikaanse medicijnwaakhond FDA heeft donderdag (lokale tijd) een extra coronaprik voor kwetsbare patiënten goedgekeurd. Amerikanen met een verzwakt immuunsysteem komen in aanmerking voor een extra vaccindosis Pfizer of Moderna.
Volgens schattingen van de Amerikaanse gezondheidsdienst CDC heeft 2,7 procent van de Amerikaanse volwassenen een verlaagde immuniteit. Het gaat dan bijvoorbeeld om mensen die behandeld worden voor kanker, patiënten met hiv of mensen die een orgaandonatie hebben ondergaan.
