Luchthavens verwerken meer passagiers

DEN HAAG (ANP) De Nederlandse luchtvaartsector heeft het afgelopen kwartaal ruim vier keer zoveel passagiers verwerkt als in dezelfde periode vorig jaar. Dat waren er echter nog steeds veel minder dan in dezelfde periode in 2019.

Onagers geboren in Emmen

EMMEN (ANP) In dierentuin Wildlands in Emmen zijn twee onagers geboren. Onagers zijn Aziatische wilde ezels, ook wel paardezel of halfezel genoemd, en in het wild ernstig bedreigd. Wildlands is de enige dierentuin in Nederland die onagers heeft.

Onagers komen in het wild voor in de woestijnen van Syrië, Iran en Tibet. Hun leefgebied wordt bedreigd door de concurrentie met mensen en vee om voedsel en waterbronnen. Ook wordt er op ze gejaagd. Europese dierentuinen hebben een fokprogramma.
