'EU-landen moeten opschieten met cononavaccinatie'

BRUSSEL (ANP) De EU-landen moeten hun inentingscampagne tegen het coronavirus opvoeren, dringt de Europese Commissie aan. Ze moeten voorkomen dat er oponthoud ontstaat en vaccins ongebruikt blijven, zegt Eurocommissaris Stella Kyriakides (Gezondheid).
De commissie moest de afgelopen weken veel kritiek incasseren op de gezamenlijke aankoop van coronavaccins. Ze zou veel te traag te werk zijn gegaan en machteloos moeten toekijken hoe leveringen tegenvielen.
Maar nu verschuiven de schijnwerpers naar de nationale regeringen, vulde Kyriakides' collega Margaritis Schinas aan na overleg van de twee met de zorgministers van de EU-lidstaten.
